Hello Earth

by Antonia Smith

It's here Heros, the much anticipated album was released not too long ago (20.1.2012). I am so proud of Jermaine, as i know he put his heart and soul into this album. Besides writing the 11 tracks which he arranged and helped produce, he also designed the artwork for the album. He has constantly kept his Heros in the loop of everything, via his Twitter, blog or from his SUPERspectiveTV Youtube channel. The Heros always appreciate his work ethic, humility, and charm. The album comes after his mixtape Goodbye Krypton and recently his cover/remix mixtape Nine Ten Eleven- The Refixes. Hello Earth features some amazing artists like Lioness, Donaeo, Cherri V, Mark Asari and his brother Shaun Riley. Additionally, producers on the album include Dready, Parker & James, Maleek Berry, Harmony and more. The album is bananas *in my Ashanti voice* Download Hello Earth now at www.jermaineriley.com

The Saturdays

The Saturdays "Off Your Radar"

The girls are back with their third album, 'Off The Radar'.

The Saturdays definitely didn't want to exclude themselves from the electro pop/house/dubstep genre as majority of the songs released nowadays are aimed for the dance floor and are flying up the charts. The songs on the album are the typical dance track that will get you nodding your head unconsciously, but it does make a great workout playlist might i add. But they do slow it down a bit with songs like "My Heart Takes Over", "Wish I Didn't Know" and "Last Call". It's a nice effort from them and you can catch the ladies on their All Fired Up Tour now.

'Open Invitation'

By Antonia

After five years since his last album "Alter Ego", Tyrese released as what he described as his best work yet; "Open Invitation". The multi talented singer is a former Model, songwriter, rapper (Black-Ty from the "Alter Ego" album), actor (Baby Boy,Transformers, Fast Five), author (How To Get Out Of Your Own Way) and a father to his beautiful daughter Shayla. The songs are very coherent and they each tell a story, with the help of Brandon "B.A.M." Alexander who produced majority of the songs on the album. Brandon recently produced some songs for Joe's latest album "The Good, The Bad, The Sexy". Also Lil Ronnie produced a couple of tracks on "Open Invitation" too, Lil Ronnie has worked with Bow Wow, Raheem DeVaughn and Britney Spears. Some of the writers includes Tyrese, R. Kelly and Kendrick "WyldCard" Dean just to name a few.

Tyrese released several songs simultaneously, "Too Easy" ft Ludacris which is a fun party track talking about how easy they make being fly look. "I swear i make it look too easy, N**** wishing they could be me. Naw, haters can't see me 'cause i'm too hot for TV". Tyrese then takes it back to his "Sweet Lady" and "How You Gonna Act Like That" days and sings his emotions with his signature sultry voice on the number 1 single "Stay". The video definietly gave me a "Jodddiieeee!!" moment when i saw the leading lady for the video "Stay". It features the beautiful Taraji P. Henson, which showcased Tyrese begging and pleading with Taraji to 'Stay' "I'll go out my way, i'll do whatever it takes, baby won't you just stay". It ends with a cute proposal that had Tyrese and their daughter on bended knees.

"I Gotta Chick" ft Rick Ross & R. Kelly is another club banger like "Fireworkz" ft T.I which is the last song on the album. The album is filled with rich, soulful slow jams (my fave), stand out tracks for me are; "Best of Me", "Nothing on You"," I Miss That Girl", "Angel" (dedicated to his daughter), "Walk" (is a poem dedicated to his fans, i love it). Keke Wyatt- Unbelievable!

By Antonia

It's been a year since Keke released her album "Who Knew" which i loved. My favourites are "Who Knew", "Weakest", "Without You", "Daydreaming" and "Peace On Earth". If you don't have the album make sure you get it, it's an R&B classic. After having a baby, getting married and now apart of Shanachie Records "Unbelievable!" arrived.

My favourites are "Light Me Up" a nice mid tempo track about a man being like the sun in the middle of the day. "Mirror" featuring Kelly Price & Tweet, *sigh* these R&B singers are so under rated. Hearing their voices had me getting their albums out and playing them back to back from Southern Hummingbird to Mirror To Mirror. The song talks about a woman questioning herself on her turbulent relationship with her man and letting herself down by not leaving. Keke is known for remaking songs ("My First Love" by Rene Moore & Angela Winbush and Patti LaBelle "If Only You Knew"). So it was no surprise she covered a few songs, first by Cherelle and Alexander O'Neal's "Saturday Love," ft Ruben Studdard Miki Howard's song "Love Under New Management", Keke went awff (off) on this record, her high notes are so unreal. Another remake of "Tears Of Heaven" by Eric Clapton. The last song on the album "His Eyes On A Sparrow" a classic gospel song, Keke sang her heart out this and showed her Gospel roots. Overall it does not live up to her last albums but nevertheless it's a nice touch to your album collections. Also be on the look out for a reality show featuring our girl Keke. When she was interviewed by youknowigotsoul.com she revealed "Faith Evans isn’t going to be on screen, she’s behind the scenes as part of the producing team. It’s going to be me, Nicci Gilbert from Brownstone, Syleena Johson, Tweet, I think Kelly Price, Angie Stone and Lelee from SWV. It’s basically going into our lives and showing that we’re not only singers of r&b, we’re also mothers and our lives and we lead lives like regular women do......I’ve teamed up with the national coalition against domestic violence to help women who are being abused and their children".
